Poll question: Did Vice Presisdent Cheney shoot the guy on purpose?
Here's a question, because maybe I"m missing some of the scuttlebut around this story.

3. I'd seriously call it "Reckless Disregard" ...
Conduct that, under the circumstances, reflects complete indifference to the safety and rights of others. It should be charged as a Class A Misdemeanor, imho.

4. Not on purpose, just criminal negligence
The concept when hunting is to know what you are shooting at before you pull the trigger. Or even put your finger on it. Yeah, the guy should have been well behind Cheney, but Cheney probably should not have opened fire on a six-foot-tall quail. Wearing a safety vest.

There was an old joke when I was growing up in NH. A farmer is bitter because every year, hunters kill one or two of his cows thinking they're deer. Finally one year he paints COW in bright orange letters on each side of each animal. And loses a dozen.

Now, Cheney was out of college by that time, so he might very well have been the culprit. One thing is for sure, this will make him a national laughing stock.

5. That's true
Although from his perspective, better perhaps to be anational laughing stock than to have people focusing on the Scooter testimony.

7. Maybe, Maybe Not, Who Knows? He Should NOT Get the Benefit of the Doubt
though. It should be an ALLEGED accident.

8. Cheney was drunk. He didn't mean to shoot him but
his reaction time was too slow to avoid the accident. He's a known drunk and needed the 24 hrs. to sober up. eom
