A challenge to all the DU women over 50.
Anne Abernathy, the Grammaluge of the 2006 Olympics, broke her wrist competing in the Olympics. She apparently went $100,000 into debt to fulfil her dream of going to the Olympics. Let's help her out and donate $5 (or whatever you can afford) to her cause. Go to her website to donate - let's show her how proud the older ladies are of her.

5. ha ha but seriously
why is her dream more important than my dream just because i wasn't raised to whine abt how much money i owe on teevee? seriously?

it is only sport, i know people who are hundreds of thousands in debt and their only dream is to get medical care or to get their house back

so yeah giving to some jock don't do it for me

ain't got time for that now

6. She didn't even mention the money, the reporter did. I know lots
of people in debt who have lost everything also, and have donated to them much more than to this lady; I just thought if the ladies of DU donated even $5 for something that wasn't for something really ugly that happened to a person, maybe we could just feel good for doing it.
I appreciate your standing though and understand your thoughts. I give to animal causes too and they're just animals. Whatever.

7. well look at the bright side
i'm giving clicks and will give your cause a few minutes more on the front page

but no at this time of century i can't in good conscience give money to sport, i think the lady is old enough to get a real job to fund her sport, just as i pay to fund my own sport

heck even the high school girls have to wash cars to fund their sport around here
