Cheney's Shooting - A Double Irony
Remember Shakespeare's line, "First thing, we kill all the lawyers"? Guess which group is the single biggest money donor to the Democratic party? Trial lawyers. Irony #1: Cheney symbolically shoots one of those who are the last bastion of the poor and disenfranchised, the mortal enemy of corporate greed. (Like the old Mad Magazine Spy vs. Spy, we may have here greed vs. greed, but I'd rather have the lawyers on my side in tis one.)

While John Kerry et. al. were defending themselves against enemies (or supposed enemies, depeninding on one's reading of history) of America and its values, Cheney shoots an unarmed American citizen. Irony #2: Cheney symbolically enacts his beliefs and the actions of Bush from before the "election."

There's a third: Remember the infamous Scalia-Cheney - no-conflict-of-interest duck hunt in pre-Katrina Louisiana? Cheney shoots the innocent and helpless and conspires with the evil.

Has Shrub ever used a gun?

3. Oops! LOL! I just made the same connection to Shakespeare and posted.
With a slightly different take on the ironic twist.

4. Maybe it was a lawyer hunt?
Maybe they are letting out lawyers from a cage to shoot at in place of just birds? I just love our great native hunters. Doesn't it make you feel great to be an American? Rich brought in to shot animals and birds cages for the kill. Like baiting deer or the old royal camp farms.I thought they went out pre-WW1

5. There was a famous short story about that..
Not lawyer hunting, but a big game hunter hunting people.
