Re: Cheny incident! Sometimes when u want to know why something happened,
you have to ask simply..what did it accomplish? Now, if you are a criminologist, you look at MOD, but if we are looking at the vice pres of the USA, we need to just look at what it accomplished! And what did it accomplish? 100% of the media, 100% of us here at DU...are 100% focused on the incident! We are not looking at the Iran issue...which has the potential to end life on the planet as we know it. We are not looking at global warming..which may end life on this planet as we know it. WE certainly are not looking at the looming issue of will dick cheney be indighted...that one is way on back burner now. What we are debating..and what the media is debating is why wasn't the media notified sooner, what are the freaking timelines of the incident...etc. And mostly what has been accomplished is that we are other directed from what is really important..and let us not forget that this happened immediately after there was this very looming possible indightment of dick cheney just hanging there. So, what has happened? All of us look at this accident and know in our hearts that there but the grace of god go I...we can say it was dumb..careless..etc...but the bottom line is that this has not only distracted all of the attention re possible indightment, but it has humanized dick cheney in a way that no other happening on earth could have accomplished. And now what...in the midst of it all...are we going to have the total lack of human compassion to now indight him..to kick him when he is down...nope! Look what this accomplished..it is brilliant! And we are all folling into it like so many sheep over the cliff.

1. For one or two days maybe.
We're enjoying the moment. And the moment will pass.

3. Naw, don't get so upset. Cheney needs to be tortured for a few days!
This will pass, except in the comedy shows, in a short time. I know he claims not to care, but he's ego is so big, it bothers him a lot! WE all need that to happen for a while!!!!!

The 600 page memo on Katrina is being released on Wed, and that will take over the news then.

Let's all enjoy Cheney suffering humiliation for a few days!

4. it's Cheney crime the MSM will actually cover: If it bleeds it leads
so it's almost as good (minute by minute) as an in depth piece on the lies leading to war
and the many other Cheney crimes, so neglected by the dullards in the WX press.

We're all excited to come up with the next big clue to help them, of course!

I'm grateful we aren't forced to worship Bush again today. That's the alternative.

6. perhaps, but one thing it did seem to accomplish was to wake up the
media, so possibly we are dealing with the theory of unintended consequences. In the meantime, whatever happens, I hope that whittington will survive, and I hope that chinstrap continues to be an object of cynosure and ridicule and contempt. Make him human? instead, I think he showed some of the sheeples just how unbelievably arrogant and contemptuous he is.
