9. They are so pretty. I love to watch them when they run through

my yard, especially when they have chicks. The chicks are so cute and they run so fast. The Quail have better parenting skills than many humans. When there is a predator around one of the adults will distract it while the other parent runs the children in another direction to hide.

The male gets up high on a bush and directs all the hens and chicks telling them where to go, where there is food and where it's safe. I couldn't imagine being hungry enough to kill one to eat it, let alone killing it to watch it die.

Cheney doesn't hunt here because our laws don't permit a lot of hunting excesses that go on in other states. Seems our quail are smarter for living here. :-)
