1. First of all, I'd have to wake up
since I'd never be hunting or holding a gun.
unless I was dreaming.
:)

3. We would be taken in for questioning, and probably released.
As to the "no bird stamp", I suspect we would receive the same thing Cheney did...a fine and a warning to go get one!

I really do think this was an accident. Cheney will be sorry he tried to cover it up, and not just come out and say I did it, it was a tragic accident, and I'm very, very sorry!

5. Cheney didn't get a fine! After being caught, he paid 7 dollars
for a bird stamp. You'd think he would have to go in front of a judge for this, be fined, hunting license revoked, and go through a firearms safety course...

6. Remember that doctor that told Cheney to go Cheney himself? he was
treated worse than Cheney for shooting someone. He was harrassed and handcuffed by secret service, I think.

7. Without killing them? Fine, probation, hunting license revoked.
Actually, it often depends on the circumstances. If the hunter shot at game, missed, and hit someone they couldn't have seen behind some shrubs, they'd very likely get off with nothing more than a warning. If they were hunting negligently and shot without verifying their line of fire (as Cheney did), they'd probably get a fine, get probation (which bans firearms possession), and have their hunting license revoked.

If they killed the other hunter, they'd be looking at manslaughter or negligent homicide charges unless the hunter could prove that it was impossible for him to have known the other hunter was there.

8. So what do we tell our children? You don't have to follow the law
unless you get caught?
