I bet Deadeye Dick thought he could hide the St. Valentine's Day Massacre.

I bet he thought his doctors could treat the victim (hence the 3 hours between accident and hospital admission)...

I bet he thought the SS could arrange private meetings for the filing of police reports...

I bet he thought he could keep it completely out of the press...

And I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that other drunken incidents have been hidden successfully.

If you haven't read it already, Editor and Publisher reports that we only heard at all because the owner of the ranch knew someone from the local paper.

NEW YORK The more than 18-hour delay in news emerging that the Vice President of the United States had shot a man, sending him to an intensive care unit with his wounds, grew even more curious late Sunday. E&P has learned that the official confirmation of the shooting came about only after a local reporter in Corpus Christi, Texas, received a tip from the owner of the property where the shooting occurred and called Vice President Cheney's office for confirmation.

One final bet. I'll bet Katharine Armstrong is off the Cheney's Christmas Card list.

1. I think you're right.
Armstrong said she told Cheney that she would feel more comfortable reporting this to the Corpus Christi newspaper. And Cheney responded that she should do what she felt comfortable in doing.

Uhhhh, I don't think that this made Cheney very comfortable.

2. Arrogant SOB
It's just one more example of the unbelievable arrogance of this cabal that has to be ended. They think they are above the law and above the reach of the 'commom' folk in this country. This is the behavior of dictators, not men who were hired by the public and deserve to know what the hell they are doing.

2 questions:

1. Why didn't Bush himself demand this be made public Sat. the minute he heard it? He is as culpable as Cheney. Of course they assumed they could hide it.

2. Why are we paying for Cheney to travel around with a whole 'medical team', ambulance, etc. I can see maybe having a cardiologist with him or better yet a trained cardio technician, but a G-D TEAM of docs and a freaking ambulance???? These SOB's travel like royalty!

3. Well, Bush hid his DUI for how many years? (Remember Oct. 2000?)
And, as for #2, we now know Crashcart needs a M.A.S.H. team to follow him around...

Man shot by Cheney has 'silent' heart attack
Controversy erupts over White House handling of hunting accident news
