Rainville Announces For Bernie's Seat: Back Swifly Away From Bushco
Martha Rainville, Adjutant General of The Vermont National Guard, announced yesterday that she is running for Congress. Of course, we've all known for months she was running. During that time she refused to answer any position questions, claiming it would be improper to do so while she was in uniform. Yesterday she stated that she'll step down from the Guard. She let us know where she stands. It was fairly amusing. She knocked bushco, said the war was unnecessary, came out as firmly pro-choice, and said repubs in Washington have lost their way. Can't wait to watch the National party squirm around trying to support her, and they will support her; they really want this seat.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: This will be a competetive race. Rainville is running against dem State Senator Peter Welch, a good guy and an experienced pol, but about as exciting as cream of wheat. Could VT send a Socialist to the Senate, and a repub to the House? I certainly hope not.
