I 've got a golden ticket!

I've got a golden chance to make my way and with a golden ticket its a golden day. Ever since the "shot heard around the world" I can't seem to get this song out of my head. I know.. I know.. this has been hashed and rehashed but for what its worth here is my two cents. To all those that say that this shooting is a distraction and to discuss it will only cause us to lose sight of real issues I say ARE You ON Crack! I would like everyone to repeat after me.."The vice president of the United States of America shot a man in the face". Holy Shit! It may not be intellectually stimulating but it sure does resonate. The man himself gave us all the ammunition we need to blow him out of the water with his base. Hell, he even cocked and loaded the gun, yet we debate whether it is worthy enough to be repeated! I was under the impression that some of the purpose of sites like DU is to strengthen the cause and help to bring more votes our way. Hammering away on this shooting could definately produce results with the gun toting , NRA card carrying bubbas that that this mis-administration has as a base. Cheney screwed up. He embarrassed the shit out of these guys. Even if these types aren't admitting it in a public way, you know they are thinking "what an asshole". I don't think these types take embarressment lightly and to add insult to injury The white house is blaming the 78 year victim. If perception is everything, then I would have to say that Cheney is fucked. So I'm not wasting my golden ticket, I'm headed straight to the chocolate factory.

(Sorry for the profanities and tasteless analogies. There is nothing like a good shooting to bring it out in a girl!)

....I like your attitude and perspective and agree with 100% we need to keep the drumbeat on, first of all Cheney violated the law A) not having the required authorized stamp B) reckless endangerment and C) obstruction of Justice. He has definately in a concrete way that even the rednecks can understand, broken the trust of the American people. IMPEACHMENT!!!

Of course, this is huge and of course it should be the cause of his downfall.

But these aren't normal times or normal people we're dealing with here. They have their hands firmly on the grip of power and control EVERYTHING, the 3 branches of government, the media, and a powerful PR machine that can trivialize even this.

The best hope lies in convincing Republicans in Congress (pathetic, I know) that Bushco has got to go.
And more of them are coming around.

That's why all of the messages you've been seeing about focussing. The best hope is with all these boring Congressional Inquiries.
