No, this thread isn't about checking your background and making sure you don't SHOOT 78-YEAR-OLD MEN IN THE FACE.

It's about the commonly-known rule of hunting: Eat what you hunt.

From the reports I've read, this "hunting" trip consisted of previously caged-up quail that were released nearby the "hunters" for their targeting pleasure, and that Cheney's party killed several hundred of them. Can someone here post the exact figures, I can't find them.

This goes much farther than "hunting for food" (which I'm not terribly opposed to). This descends into "pathological killing of animals for pleasure."

8. I have been wondering about this

I drive US 77 (the Armstrong Ranch is off of US 77) back and forth from the Rio Grande Valley several times a month. I've seen no wild quail along the fence lines, which is to be expected because of the drought. I've seen lots of javalinas and deer (10 point buck at probably 150 lbs. a few weeks ago) and other assorted wildlife along 77. But no quail at all. So I've been thinking this had to be a canned hunt.

And yes, real hunters clean and eat what they kill. And they never shoot more than they can use.
