How much longer, oh lord?
How much more can we take? When will this fucking madness end? I wish I knew. For all I know this is one of their ways to tie up a loose end in the funeralgate scandal.

NOTHING, and I mean nothing they do would surprise me anymore. Now that Bushco has turned a whimpering press into a pack of rabid, truth hungry journalists, maybe this will end soon. God only knows.

I don't.

1. You have to beat them. You have to win an election. Why we cannot
abandon Democrats.

4. I don't happen to think Diebold stole votes. No actual evidence. I
think exit polls were used to make Dems overconfident and keep them home on voting day. I think 50 things happened that resulted in elections going to GOP. Faulty defaults, not enough Diebold machines in some heavy Dem districts, vetting felons by race, war president ordered up by Rove, etc.

But no actual anecdotal evidence that votes were stolen by Diebold. No testimony.

Evidence of much else. The other 49 ways votes were swayed or stolen.

So please - as we head into the next race - to not attack a moderate democrat you work beside or on whose door you knock - because we disagree on exactly how the elections are stolen by nefarious GOP.

Really - I think they use Diebold and the fear of new technology to create apathy and fear in you and then a division among democrats. That's my take on the situation. And my take is based on what I think - not what has been proven. But what I think happened given the factual information I have access to. So we are both going with a theory. And we both need to admit we are speculating. Cause there is not yet a smoking gun on why exit polls were off - but so too in places where there were no Diebold.

So let's agree here to disagree. And when we sign up for the good fight during the elections (GO DEMS!).. that we take our marching orders and work together - no matter how the GOP and assholes like Rove have smashed us apart from each other... me and you... mods and progressives... because we need to come together to win.

That is the only way to get rid of the crazies. And to have some peace of mind. Instead of constant and torturous attack. Which breaks us down and makes us weep and tires us out and depresses and isolates us.

Peace!!:hi:

7. Works for me.
Kansas City just signed up with Diebold on Dec. 1st. Naturally, I'm a little upset . . . those paper ballots were easy to use and left a paper trail.

But we shall see.

:)

8. Bush has not lifted a finger in election transparency. He is using it.
He could solve it and re-establish trust. But obviously - conflict within democrats and fear - works for him. Very disheartening. I would be upset if I was you. So I understand But good that it will not keep you from voting or working together with Dems who may differ. And that Dems will show up in such numbers that nothing the GOP/neocons can do will matter. Nov. 2006.

P.S. start working on a "little speech" you can give to any election worker who tries to intimidate you. If that happens - you need to be able to unload - efficiently. You know - a speech about love & your country.

9. Some good points.
And . . . hopefully the turnout will be huge, as you say. This has always been a heavily Democratic precinct.

6. Like Churchill, I will Never surrender!
But let's face facts. These people have spent over twenty years putting this apparatus into place. They have covered all bases. How do you crack the supreme court? What law enforcement agency can trumpt the secret service? How do you investigate, when they shut down your attempts to do so? How do you counter questionable election results? How do you crack the media, which is pretty well bought and paid for?

I realize and understand that there are now cracks appearing in their facade, but still nothing has changed. We are still at war, a war without end. We have single-handedly turned the middle-east into a muslim theocracy, controlled by radical clerics. We have had our rights as citizens destroyed, we have been sold down the river to the highest corporate bidders. Our environment is their doormat.

So, what's it going to take? They have all the cards, plus a few aces up their sleeves.

I sure don't want a civil war within the U.S., but I have to wonder.

10. Imagine yourself as the human equivalent of a nuclear reactor. Your

core is filled with Uranium (the heaviest element found in nature). That is the love within you towards your family, friends, community & country. As long as you get to vote - nobody should come near you with intimidation because you are immovable. You are your soul. And it is deep. And you will function as a clean energy source for the Dems. But if someone tries to stop you from voting, or spreads a rumour in your district that the dems are way ahead in the polls on election day so you do not need to vote - you will have a VERBAL meltdown. You will call any news outlet reporting "exit polls" and berate them & demand airtime. You will have a "little speech" ready for the GOP representative who calls you with a push poll or who tries to intimidate you at the polls.

You are not a nuclear weapon. They want you to be - and to radiate fear and kill the dems around you. They may try to harness you to kill democracy or people or the earth by doling out different fears within your group. You are a succinct and exacting human being who wants to vote and wants to work towards electoral victory for you party. Nothing can get in your way. If GOP person puts up a barrier to your vote - they need to move. They need to go around you. Cause you are the power of the earth and the sun over a few billion years. They move - you don't. You do what you have to do. And you don't attack or poison. You vote! You live free. You love. You think. You vote.

3. You know, I ask that question every single day. Seriously.
How much more of this ineptitude and evil can our country take....

5. It can go on much longer. Why it is important to pace. And to grieve.
That is right - you should periodically be having a good cry. My gosh - your country is being trounced. It is sad. So you cry hard - & you get angry and at the end you come out with a new perspective and a new desire to fight.
