White House under Siege - Cheney Hunting - Quail-gate
It appears that even the Network Corporate media is questioning the inconstancies of the Cheney Hunting accident. And they are starting to demand the Vice President speak to the American people concerning this incident.

Lets get it on record, How does DU think this will play out? Will Cheney come clean in a tearful interview? Will Bush have a Fireside chat wearing a cardigan sweater, and Barney in his lap saying "America has nothing to fear..."

Will they just continue to cover it up? Is that possible?

What do you think DU...get it on record!

2. Oh, I love that. "tearful interview".
Crack-shot Cheney will never relent....ever. I'm visualizing Dead-eye Dick on his death bed. His lip curls up in a sneer.....

His last words will be a scathing attack on the......"damn liberals". He has trouble now....the end is coming, he speaks slowly...."If -- it weren't .....for You......Dem's......we.....would...have....conquered.....the ....world...damn you......-fades away -

3. Whatever happens
Cheney has blown this so badly, he can't win whatever he does.

It's great, Cheney the Almighty is now the object of national scorn. He's toast.

4. Nah, it'd be a dry heartless admission to being a participant in
an accident. Move along.

6. It's the cover-up...and even simple minded people can see something
does not add up...but I dont see Cheney giving comment on this, no matter the pressure, except to hope Wittington gets well soon. Cheney is heartless.

7. The easy out for him would be to claim ill health and resign...
I have a feeling this is turning into a behind-the-scenes, battle royale between Cheney and Rove. Rove wants Cheney out of his way and out of the WH before the fall election cycle gears up.

9. If the Rift in the WH is true between Bushites and the Cheneyites
this could be the time to get rid of Cheney.

But there is one part of the story that has been bothering me...Bush knew about the accident within hours of it happening. In effect he too could be liable, couldn't he?

If anyone knew about a "crime" after it happened and did not notify authorities are they too guilty of a crime? Maybe I am reaching here.

10. They'll play the cover-up card for a while longer ...
... but will eventually realize it's not catching on with the public.

Cheney will resign. Once gone, under Rove's careful supervision, Cheney will become the scapegoat for everything the WH is now being pressured about, and every failed policy, to whit: "It was Cheney who misled the president, and the American people, about the lead-up to war. Cheney used the president's trust in him to mis-guide him into things like secret prisons, torture, etc."

Cheney (who probably doesn't have long to live anyway) will eventually be pointed to as the root of all that's gone wrong ...

11. Cheney will have to be willing to be the scapegoat...Remember he has
a lot of "goods" on these people. Remember a lover scorned? If Cheney plays the fall guy it will be because he wants too. Take the hit for the greater good of the whole. For PNAC.

13. I'm sure his health is even more fragile ...
... than we've been led to believe. And if THEY know he's only got a limited time left, why not point the finger? Dead men tell no tales.

Besides, if the Neo-cons and the rest of the RWers see him as a liability -- well, EVERYONE is expendable in their world, and Cheney would be no exception.

In the meantime, Cheney's protestations can be put down to the ramblings of a bitter old man, who got caught in his own trap and is now yelping like a whipped dog.

14. I am not sure I believe Cheney is as ill as they portray him to be
I realize that hunting from an SUV is not that strenuous, but still there is some exertion in hunting. And if reports of a "couple" beers is true....well

Cheney now has to see himself a tarnished goods, and should bow out of the picture. Retire to the grand new residence he recently purchased and take control there.

12. It might depend how much Cheney and Co. is making the victim's
family angry like the latest from the doctor who said he wasn't that bad, and getting the 'royal treatment'. When it is your father, husband, brother ----one takes a different view. Cheney and the WH may spin themselves out of control this time.

Wait until 'Time' and 'Newsweek' come out, I hope they get all the names, details, timelines sorted out right.
