I can only speak for myself, but I'm sick of the career political types who either won't speak their minds, or apologize almost instantly for having done so if a Repug or their pet pundits even look at them funny afterwards.

I am impressed by the sharp-witted, go-getter types who tell it like it is and refuse to bow to pressure to bite their tongues or take back their words. Sometimes trying to figure out how to say what needs to be said without taking the risk of offending anyone is exactly the wrong tact to take. When are these people going to wise up and figure it out?

Teddy Roosevelt said "speak softly and carry a big stick." Well, shit...how big a stick do we need? We've got a record deficit, insane spending, systemic corruption, inept emergency management, a war based on deception, pseudo-religious, anti scientific thugs raping our schools, lobbyists writing bills for Congress in the interests of their own industries, and the best we can come up with is "please, will you let us investigate you? Pretty please?"

And we wonder why so many Americans are apathetic. Well, not me. I KNOW why Americans are apthetic. Because so many folks, Dems and DUers included, think that trying to patch together a broken system with spit and bubble gum is going to do the job. It isn't.

Newsflash...the fucking Washington DC insiders ain't going to save us. But those of you willing to stand up for the capitulators and the collaborators just go on ahead. The only thing we've got to lose is America.
