4. Other: Avoid bloody primary.

The "conspiracy" answer. I saw a thread last night accusing people who believed it would be better to throw all the party money to a single candidate for senate and throw all of Hackett's money to grabbing that house seat he barely lost last year of being "plants" and "party operatives". I wish I was inside the party far enough to be a plant. I just think we should emotionally step back and consider the benefits of getting both Brown and Hackett into Congress and avoiding the waste of a ton of money in a bloody primary campaign. It just seems logical.

I thought it was pretty shitty the way they went about getting him out of the race but that doesn't mean we shouldn't support Brown and do everything we can to convince Hackett to run for that House seat.

6. Agree

A fierce primary is sometimes a problem for the eventual nominee, sometimes not. In general, though, party leaders have an inordinate fear of them, and go to great lengths to try to produce "unity" in the form of a consensus candidate. I think that's what happened here.

5. Sorry, I believe this poll is rigged for a flame war

Reality is rarely a binary dichotomy, and the fact that you tacked on "other" to insulate against such charges as push polling is ingenius, but at face value, it was poorly designed. I'd urge you to change it to appear less like a push poll than it already does.
