Apple ships MacBook Pro (CNN/AP)
SAN JOSE, California (AP) -- Apple Computer Inc. said Tuesday it will begin shipping this week the new MacBook Pro, the company's first laptop computer to feature an Intel Corp. microprocessor.

Apple, which is in the midst of a historic shift to Intel chips, last month introduced its first Intel-based desktop computer, the iMac G5 {sic!}, about six months ahead of schedule.

Instead of using the previously announced 1.83 gigahertz Core Duo processor, Apple said the new high-end MacBook will feature a 2.0 Ghz chip, but will remain priced at $2,499. The lower-end $1,999 model will have a 1.83 Ghz chip, instead of the previously announced 1.67 Ghz chip.

Customers may also upgrade to a 2.16 Ghz version.

4. Does it have a right click mouse button?
I've always wondered all these years why the hell they stuck with the one mouse button?

6. In all the years of using a Mac, I've never needed more than one.
Or those stupid F# keys. All those extra moving parts are just a crutch for inferior user interface design.

7. Maybe you don't comprehend the elegance of the Mac interface.

Unless you are just flame-baiting here, there really is a good answer to your question. The Mac interface knows what the user wants done with a mouse-click in almost every circumstance. For the few times it doesn't, just holding for a selection will suffice. I use my computers many hours everyday and maybe override the Mac interface click-decision twice a month.

I find it interesting that Mac users seldom, if ever, ask your button question, only non-Mac users seem to wonder. But if a Mac owner really wants a multi-button mouse, all it takes is plugging one in, or selecting it in Bluetooth.

If you fly around in a private jet, would you ask why it doesn't have clips to hold a coal shovel?

5. Hell, I'm still on OS 9.2...
it's quite an effort to keep up with all these advancements. I just hope the new Macs still have Stickies. This is a feature I've become quite attached to after having swtiched from PC to Mac.
