Hume(or whoever): Mr. Vice President, this peppering accident has received an awful lot of attention in the liberal media and that is why you asked to come on our show. Why do you think the liberal media is distorting this unfortunate accident?
Cheney: Well, Britt, as you here at Fox know, the media has aided terrorists by outting our surveillance system and were quite sympathetic to my opponents in the last election cycle. Since they aid terrorists, it is no surprise that they would take any opportunity, no matter how trivial, to try to bring down the administration that is protecting america.
Hume: Mr. Vice President, can you tell us a little about that unfortunate incident.
Cheney: Well, Britt, as you know and as any experienced hunter knows, it is against all hunting etiquette for someone to step into the line of another hunter's fire. I spotted a bird and was in the process of shooting when Mr. Victim jumped in my line of fire. Now, Mr. Victim is an elderly man, and of course, did not announce his presence in my line of fire, and for that he can certainly be forgiven. We all send our prayers out for his speedy recovery, and hope that he has certainly learned his lesson.
Hume: Mr. Vice President, do you intend to press charges against Mr. Victim for his reckless and careless conduct?
Cheney: Oh no, Britt, I think he's suffered enough. I don't want this to have to go through the court system. He is an elderly man, and like I say, I think he has learned his lesson.
