Fox Attacks Media For Focus on Victim's Health, & Not On Cheney's Feelings
This is truly, truly REVOLTING!!!!

I found the link in the Huffington Post blog:

Think Progress: Fox Criticized The Media For Focusing Too Much on Whittington's Condition And Not Enough On How Cheney Is Feeling...

Fox News: Whittington ‘Doing Just Fine,’ But ‘How Is VP Cheney Feeling?’

Vice President Cheney will make his first public statements on the hunting accident during an interview with Brit Hume later today. Last night, we received a preview of the hard-hitting questions Cheney is likely to face. FOX News anchor Neil Cavuto and his guest, former Cheney staffer Ron Christie, criticized the media for focusing too much on Whittington’s condition and not enough on how Cheney is feeling.

Watch it here: http://images1.americanprogress.org/il80web20037/ThinkProgress/2006/cavutochristie.320.240.mov

TRANSCRIPT:

CAVUTO: This is a Fox News alert. The lawyer accidentally hit by Vice President Dick Cheney suffering a mild heart attack this morning. Doctors say he’s doing just fine and could be released in a week. Meanwhile, the White House press corps again beating a dead horse as it tries to find out why they were not told right away about the Vice President’s hunting accident. Not one person bothering to ask, in the meantime, how Dick Cheney’s feeling about all this. After all, he’s a human being and injuring someone else in an accident can take a huge toll. With us now someone who knows the Vice President pretty well. Ron Christie is a former Cheney advisor and author of Black in the White House. Good to have you back my friend.

Vice President Cheney remains in our thoughts and prayers.

(...)

These people are truly CULT OF PERSONALITY. They just adore Bush and Cheney, no matter what. There's nothing these two could do (even shooting an elderly man i n the face) that would make these sycophants even doubt for a minute their blind allegiance to their dear leaders.

Truly revolting :puke:

And for extra nausea, click on the video link, and see the asskissing comments by Ron Christie. It's enough to make you lose your lunch. He repeats over and over again that Cheney is a "very warm, very caring person," "a very nice guy," that he is very "open and forthcoming," and how this is all how the media "demonize him."

Only on Fox.

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

Having him say this is like hearing a slave say that his slave master really is a very warm and caring person.

Yea, I said it. I am so sick and tired of people like this acting like they represent the black American population, he doesn't represent this black American. He is a sellout.....

19. Even Chris Matthews called him out - albeit politely -- yesterday
Christi held his ground defending Cheney. Never backed down; this was all an overblown democrat-created non-issue and everyone is just bashing Cheney who did everything right. Tweety literally laughed at him at the end, and complimented him for his "steadfastness." Christi is getting his share of the billion-dollar-plus BushCo propaganda budget, no doubt.

He's either locked in his bunker or taping "interviews" with Faux.

Why even ask when there's no chance that he'll provide an answer?

Cheney covers up his GF and possible booze (and who was hunting beside Whittington, the GF or Cheney?), fails to notify the press, has the land owner say her bumbling story, making teletubby Scotty eat more from the stress of more lies AND WE ARE SUPPOSE TO FEEL SORRY FOR DICK? :nopity:

Focus our sympathy not on the elderly victim who is lying in an ICU bed with pellets lodged in his heart and liver, but on the man who put him there. Oh, yes...that highlights the priorities of Faux News, the GOP wing nuts and the insanity of the Administration's spin-doctors quite nicely.

Its appalling.

His mission this week is to show up in as many talk shows as possible to tell how nice and warm the reptilian VP is, and how much we should care about his "feelings."

In the meantime, Cheney is going around BLAMING THE VICTIM, saying that Wittington got shot for getting in the way.

See, it's not about convincing you or me or anybody rational.

It's about convincing the rest of the media, which tries every day in every way to be more fair to Republicans. They will be more than willing to re-think their approach and to see Cheney as the victim of accident coverage; to parcel blame to Whittington for his own situation in every account, and to credit Democrats with banal 'politicizing' even though not one has said a word about this incident.

I've already heard twice about Democrats trying to use this incident for political gain, something I didn't hear once in two years of Republicans rabidly and illegally assaulting Clinton and our Constitution for his personal behavior.

article, I have to 100% agree with the OP. These people are just insane. Nothing moves them--nothing. Shoot a guy in the face, torture some prisoners, lie, lie, lie, lie, lie--it just doesn't matter.

Cheney could have torured prisoners himself, shot one of them in the face, killed him, and then lied about it, and they would still looooove him.

I have to wonder if they don't see the hypocrisy in their reporting. Are they never embarrassed?

Did anyone ask if Hillary was hurt when the media attacked Bill? Did anyone ask how little Chelsea felt when they went after her? Has anyone asked Kerry how he felt when his patriotism and his service to his country was questioned?

I'm really, really sick of it, but I don't expect them to stop doing it. What I would like to know is how they hold their heads up? It just makes them look so stupid.

Oh well, rant over. I really do need to stop worrying about the hypocritical media. It's not going to change in my lifetime.
