So, how many of you are going to support the Fox News Channel by watching ol' Dick LIE LIE LIE and make TALKING POINTS for 30 minutes?

the whole point was that he doesn't care about his image (because he's not running for president) and that's why he wasn't speaking. The only reason he's speaking is because of the outcry and white house pressure. As for not caring about his friend...I don't think he's a good VP, but I also don't think that he's an evil man that just shoots his friends IN THE FACE and doesn't think twice about it...lol.

for me, evil is an extraordinarily strong word that's thrown around way too easily by people on both sides. That being said, I think using the word "evil" is a great way for us to never win an election - because bottom line - right or wrong - people have faith in the "goodness" of others, no matter how egregious their mistakes and incompetencies.

there's a huge divide between what people like us really stand for and what it takes to win an election. Unfortunately, those things never completely line up. The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of people are not as informed day-to-day as people on this board. Most people get their news in snippets or sound bites if that. With that level of knowledge, they function by presuming that people are "doing their best" and are "good people" - no matter how silly that is. I think we can win by being strong and full of conviction, not by being shrill, conspiratorial or loose with accusations of "fascism" or "evil". It just doesn't play and will never play in Peoria - but only on these boards. That's my only point. Bottom line. I don't think our side is doing ourselves any favors by harping on this. I think it will backfire. You have to fight the good fight - the one worth fighting - this ain't it, in my opinion.

that the everyone is on the story...but I just don't think it helps us. I think keeping other stories on the front page are more important. As for winning elections...I mean the big ones - and at the right time. To do that requires getting momentum and maintaining it for months. Hunting BS doesn't really help that. Iraq and Katrina might though! lol
