or if they are actually going to have people tetisying. Chertoff had to leave the hearing in the SEnate because he had to appear in front of a House committee. I wonder if this is it?

4. Yes, as far as I can tell. I think each of these committee members

at least the Pubs, were the ones who did the House investigation. The Chairman said something about Chertoff appearing here, so I don't know if it will only be him or more people.

I just spent the last couple of hours listening th the hearing over there, and although there were some good questions, they mostly gave him a pass!

12. Yeah...this is MUCH better! I wonder if this is the meeting Chertoff had

to leave the Senate hearing in order to attend? Maybe we'll hear from him again. It didn't feel like it was done, did it, in that other hearing. There was still a lot left unsaid, imo.

I believe a copy of the report will be published, if not today, then quite soon. I'm sure there will be many news stories on it too, and C-Span often repeats these sorts of hearings at night and on the weekend, if you want to watch it.

18. Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC) complaining that media focused on NO,

rather than other areas, but still slamming DHS and FEMA and federal government. Putting blame on DHS, not FEMA.

20. Actually, since FEMA was put under the direction of DHS,

it IS DHS (Chertoff) fault! At the Senate hearing earlier today, Chertoff blamed FEMA and Brown for almost everything. One of the SEnators finally said "Remember the buck stops here statement Sir? YOU were the guy responsible!"

I know I've seen several Pubs speak back to back, with what appears a Dem tossed in every now and then. Hmmm
