Yes, they wanted the Muslim world completely inflamed just in time for the photos. (they were published 3 months ago, btw)

I have a feeling that, oh, just about everyone with a clue about Abu Gharaib, knows what went down without MORE photographic evidence.

2. No, but there are those on several sides who want the ME to explode now.
A major war crisis is a marvelous weapon of mass distraction that seems to keep all the worst elements floating around at the top of the toilet bowl in several countries.
