Now that Cheney's said he's to blame that should change the investigation

I can only guess, since I don't have Cheney's statement to police, that since the police report said the hunter was to blame, Cheney's statement today should change that finding, or at least open the inquiry to more questions. It's critical what Cheney said about the incident when questioned and what criteria the police used to absolve him and to conclude it was Whittington's fault, especially in the face of hunting protocol that puts the responsibility in the hands of the person firing the weapon and Cheney's admission.

What's missing is a comparison of Cheney's account to police the next morning with his statement today in which he admits blame.

What did Cheney tell police that night? Where are the accounts of the witnesses?
