PETA is a terrorist group.

Now, I'm not a member of PETA or support them in any way, but come on, a terrorist group? Throwing red paint on somebody and carrying signs at a local KFC does not constitute terrorism. The National Counterterrorist Center has labeled PETA as terrorist for caring signs outside of Jennifer Lopez's restaurant in Pasadena. The website says that Jennifer Lopez was "targeted" by the group. This is such a joke. They don't even have proof PETA sponsored the protest.

On 12 March 2005, in Pasadena, California, United States, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) activists paraded images of animals skinned alive in front of diners at a restaurant owned by the actress Jennifer Lopez. The protest was part of a campaign to shame Ms. Lopez for ¿promoting and profiting from the bloody fur industry.¿ No group claimed responsibility, although it is widely believed that PETA was responsible.

And since when is exercising your 1st Amendment rights an act of terrorism? ...strike that Bush/Cheney regime usurped power in 2000. The site also lists Lopez as a "victim" of terrorism. This is so laughable, is it any wonder that the United States has zero credibility on the world stage? While there are terrorist targeting U.S. Navy ships, hijacking airliners and flying them into buildings, and gaining legitimacy by winning elections in foreign countries, these guys are looking for protesters and graffiti artists.

On 7 March 2005, in the Fair Oaks region east of Sacramento, California, United States, members of the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) spray-painted the initials ELF on two full-size pickup trucks and an SUV. No group claimed responsibility, although it is widely believed that the ELF were responsible.

1. Fine. They want to play that way
President Hillary Rodham Clinton can use the powers of the Patriot Act to declare any anti-abortion group a terrorist organization. Oh, and all those neo-con think tanks too, for they promote policies all over the world that result in hundreds of thousands of people being killed. They can then be shut down, and their "fellows" arrested and disappeared off to Gitmo.

2. Peta and various environmental groups
get railroaded on the presumption that they are radical and somehow dangerous.

People need to get a life.

Now the so called "right to life" people... Those are some dangerous people. Despite their name, some of them will kill you without a second thought.

6. The way they're currently interpreting the law
Edited on Wed Feb-15-06 07:35 PM by LeftyMom
under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act of 1992 almost any attempt to interfere with an animal exploiting business, even by peaceful protest, can be considered terrorism and prosecuted under federal law.

Is it facism yet?

9. You may wish to see the PETA episode of Penn & Teller's "Bullshit"
It's on Showtime and in the second season DVD set. It discusses the financial support PETA has given to folks like Rod Coronado and the ALF, the folks that were also featured on an episode of 60 Minutes last year.
