President of The United States of America - Women Need Not Apply

According to a Baptist Minister, the U.S. Constitution prevents Hillary Rodham Clinton - or any woman - from serving as President. He says that contrary to what feminists think, the 19th Amendment did not de-gender the nation's highest office. Article II, Section 1 declares 16 times the President will be a man.

(snip)

To view the petition, visit: www.ChristianPetitions.com where it clearly shows that gender-specific qualifications for President are different than those for the office of Congressman in Article I, Section 1: "The House of Representatives shall be composed of members chosen every second year ... No person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained the age of 25 years ..." Neither is there any gender specification in the qualifications for Senator found in Article I, Section 2.

Said Rev. Weller, "The Constitution does not specify gender in its description of a Congressman. It's not a qualification for Senator, according to Article I, Section 2: 'The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State chosen by the legislature thereof. ... No person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the age of thirty years, and been nine years a citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.'".

"Yet four times in Article I, Section 7 the President is referred to specifically as a man. Twenty times in all the President's gender is mentioned as male," Weller continued, adding, "The Constitution thus clearly states the President must be a man. That bars women from becoming the President of the United States without our nation first enacting a constitutional amendment. "Let's raise this issue now. America needs to know the facts before campaign signs begin popping into view."

2. What an idiot! The qualifications for President is in Article II.
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

So, he's insisting that women are not people!

6. Yeah.. but remember those 'strict constitutionists' ....
.. if it's not there, you can't do it. You watch, if Hillary wins, they'll try to use this to set-aside her election and give it the to 'pug...

8. Right... no where does it say a blonde haired woman,
with one child, currently serving as Senator of New York and married to the former President of the United States and living in Chappaqua, New York can run for President. Literal interpretation--It's not there, so can't happen! :sarcasm:

4. it's just like Betty Friedan said it would be
Until we're powerful enough to challenge them, it'll be "you don't need an ERA, the "men" in there means humanity. The moment we become powerful enough to challenge them, suddenly it'll be an all-males club again.

5. Facts???
The facts are that a small cabal of impotent men currently occupying the White House have brought us to the brink of Armageddon. I suppose the good minister and his minions think a sensible sane approach by a level headed, articulate, intelligent female might delay the "Rapture." After all, we ladies don't relish sending our offspring out to torture and murder in the name of God and country. (except for the she-beasts, who are abominations in the eyes of man and God)

9. This guy is talking out of his arse
He claims "It's not a qualification for Senator", but then quotes "an inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen". This use of 'he' is exactly what he refers to in Article I, Section 7 about the President. It doesn't say "the President, who is a man"; it just uses male pronouns, exactly as the qualification for senators does.
