Poll: Most think GOP, Democrats lack vision
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- By a large number, most Americans lack faith in the ability of Democrats or Republicans to solve the nation's problems, a CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll released Wednesday indicates.

Sixty-eight percent of people surveyed February 9-12 said Democrats had no clear plan for the country, while 67 percent said Republicans lacked one.

Nevertheless, most of the respondents -- 52 percent -- said things are going very or fairly well in the country, a statistically similar response (49 percent) to the last time the question was asked in November.

The sampling error for questions asked of all 1,000 respondents was plus or minus 3 percentage points.

1. "lack vision", "no clear plan"--the Rove memes are working
The polls are all about telling Bushco how well their propaganda is working.

2. yup, convince people both are the same, never mind the GOP
controls every fucking thing. people don't get to hear or see what Dems can do since they aren't in power. so convince everyone that everyone is equally bad. and then play the fear card in the end and get them to vote for them.

3. The dems need to do a better job at showing W negatives
Such as no environmental progress and the UnChristian cutting of benefits to our most needy, amongst many other failures.

4. We HAVE A PLAN.. the MSM refuses to listen!
Edited on Sat Feb-18-06 12:22 AM by progressivebydesign
Fuck it. It's not that Democrats don't have a vision, it's not that we don't have unity, it's not that we are weak, it's that WE DON'T OWN THE AIRWAVES!!!!! Until that discrepency is fixed, people will CONTINUE to complain that we stand for nothing.

For everyone that believes we stand for nothing, that we have no plan, HERE is what I believe we stand for: Getting health care for all Americans, thereby releasing the death grip by the corporate health care machine (who is enriching themselves at the expense of our very lives). We are for putting money BACK into education, and helping our students compete in the global economy. We are for KEEPING AMERICAN JOBS HERE, why should American corporations get tax breaks while they send breadwinner jobs overseas? We are for fixing the loopholes that allow CORPORATE WELFARE! They should pay their fair share, NOT hide the money in offshore tax shelters. We are for TRYING TO STOP global warming.. and the destruction of our lives as we know it by the industrial devastation wrought onto our environment. We are for finding the best way possible to BRING OUR TROOPS home, without totally abandoning the Iraqis whose lives and country we dessimated. We are for treating our Reservists FAIRLY, and compensating them justly for their service, and taking care of their injuries.. it's only fair. We are for CLEANING up the lobbyist cesspool known as Washington D.C. We are for STOPPING BUSH from cutting more and more from the elderly, while enriching the top few percent of people in this country. We are for a STRONG and INTELLIGENT homeland defense, not gambling our safety away with photo ops, pork barrel spending, and political paybacks.

Whew.. that's what I came up with on the fly...

7. I think this is why Dean
has those simple plans that you can say quickly on tv and radio and people can pay attention. I think that's why it's up to us to talk to people, write opinion pieces, etc.

5. We *Know* the Rethugs Have a Plan. Not a Good Plan or Even a Sane Plan…
Edited on Sat Feb-18-06 12:24 AM by AndyTiedye
Yeah, we KNOW the Rethugs have a clear plan for the country: http://www.newamericancentury.org

They plan to take over the world, using us all as cannon fodder to do it.

I didn't say it was a good plan, or even a sane plan, but they sure do have a plan.

13. Just jump to Gallup & CNN's tune
Yep- it's the gospel truth. Everything they say reflects reality and isn't meant to influence public opinion.

According to Gallup- what is it 3/4's of Americans believe in angels?

Well then, you should, too.

14. Too many Democrats are cowardly , yes.
But, few as wicked as Repugs. Probably 60% of Democrats afraid to think outside of the box for fear of being different.

16. but good news tonight for Dems.
Democrats with guts can and do come forward. A real sell out. U S Representative Jane Harman of Long Beach who is the queen of the defense lobby and voted for the Patriot Act has an opponent tonight.
Marcy Winnograd. Good going Marcy. Get rid of Democrats who deserved the criticism that 60 percent of the Americans think true.
