Rumsfeld Requests 24-hour Propaganda Machine
Found this on /. - figured I would repost here.

"The BBC is reporting that http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4725992.stm">US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld is unhappy with the existing propaganda systems in place and insists that the US must create a 'more effective, 24-hour propaganda machine' or risk losing the battle for the minds of Muslims. In an era where we've already got government-created and funded media outlets and the http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/9D412AFC-5AFE-486E-A7B9-D5F1600D9385.htm">Pentagon bribing Iraqi journalists to run favorable war stories, not to mention other departments paying journalists to http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2005-01-06-williams-whitehouse_x.htm">endorse their positions, it begs the question, how much more can they possibly do?"

4. They need to tell Brit Hume
to, as they say in the Marines, "drop your cock and pull up your socks" . In other words pack your bags head to the front. If Rummy needs propaganda then the Brit's the boy for the job--he'll do a heck of a job, I'm sure of it.

5. OK, visualize this with me....
in Iraq, in fact all through the Middle East, the U.S. now has radio stations that play propaganda 24/7. In fact, every radio station is now US-owned. For variety, there are programs geared to young people, called "Democracy hour". The kiddies will get to listen to stories, all geared with a US-slant.

In the evening, there is "family hour", so the whole family can sit by the radio and listen to Aesop's fables, all tales with a Moral to the Story, meaning if you cross the Occupation, you might end up dead. Be happy with what you've got, is the message.

Soon, there will be loudspeakers installed all over Baghdad. They will be blaring American slogans, like "things are great now", and "This is freedom, don't you love it?"
