7. Hackett giving a politically correct
answer as a loyal Dem regarding needing 15 milion to run a successful campaign.

Now hitting with answering the call in October to run....and NOW answering the call NOT to run by the same ...Schumer and Reid. They called his wife....said " his country needs you".

10. I think Matthews
is doing a good job. I think Hackett is attempting to not step on toes, even though Chris is asking tough questions. Matthews thinks the war in Iraq is worth being the central issue in the 2006 campaign, and he knows Hackett had the ability to make it so.

39. Last week he said he didn't know who and thought it was a Republican MO?
This week he said several sources named the Brown Campaign? UGH! Perhaps he gathered info after the fact? Regardless, whoever is responsible should be sued for slander. I am so tired of politicians "lying" about one another in order to jump ahead in a political campaign.

Brown has no choice NOW but to make a formal statement.

22. An actual progressive!
First he drops out of the race, and now he's trying to say another democrat was swift boating him?

Fuck that!

Brown is a progressive that has a track record.

How do we know Hackett is actually a progressive? He thinks we shouldn't be in Iraq. That does not make him a liberal or a progressive by default!

34. Look... My Politics Align Way More With Brown Than With Hackett, But...
Edited on Mon Feb-20-06 06:05 PM by WillyT
my political-moral (Oxymoron I realize) compass makes me extremely mad at the powers that be, in the way they went about this whole cluster-fuck!

Brown didn't want any part of this Senate race because he didn't think he could beat DeWine, so they encourage Hackett. The polls start shifting away from DeWine, so the Dem leaders reverse course, and knee-cap Hackett.

That may not be shitty in the world of politics, but it is totally shitty in the world of human beings. Hackett has more honor in his little toe, than apparently Brown, Schumer, etc...

And although it may be the case that Brown didn't PERSONALLY know about the whispering campaign against Hackett, if it came from within his campaign, then he ought to find out who did it, and show his honor by firing their sorry asses publicly. Seems all the Ohio Dem Party Heads know who was passing this bullshit around, I say we expose the fucking bastards in his campaign.

40. What are you talking about with these pictures?
The ones in question weren't of Hackett in the first place. And no, he's not a progressive. Brown was the progressive, which is why it was odd when people assumed the DLC was involved in booting Hackett out of the race. He was more of a Dean-esque firebrand.

23. People really don't understand the business order of the party,
they think the DSCC and the DCCC are part of the "party". They are campaign committees set up, for the election. They usually stay out of the primary process, as we as VOTERS PREFER TO CHOOSE OUR CANDIDATES!
They are doing it in Sarasota Fls...the one who came the closest to turning a red district blue, the best in the state, is not getting help. The DCCC is helping the one who lost BIG TIME to her. Check out her bio at her website. She went to school with Bill Clinton....you be the judge. That is the whole point, we want to choose. The "party" has nothing to do with it....Howard Dean cannot do anything. The DSCC and the DCCC are set up as a separate entity, and they usually do not coordinate, as to stay out of the primary process. They are really out there hurting some great candidates, we don't have enough good ones in FLA...you have to ask yourself...why?

...that Rahm was recruiting Clinton people. So that fits with this:

C is helping the one who lost BIG TIME to her. Check out her bio at her website. She went to school with Bill Clinton....you be the judge.

Well, I guess it all about Hillary's upcoming endorsements. IMHO<------I can only connect the dots I have. Even money needs a machine.

35. Of course they're part of the party
DNC, DSCC, DCCC, DGA, DLCC + State Committees = Democratic Party

Our Organization

The Democratic National Committee
The Democratic National Committee plans the Party's quadrennial presidential nominating convention; promotes the election of Party candidates with both technical and financial support; and works with national, state, and local party organizations, elected officials, candidates, and constituencies to respond to the needs and views of the Democratic electorate and the nation.

The Democratic Governors' Association
The Democratic Governors’ Association was founded in 1983 to support the candidacy of Democratic governors throughout the nation. The DGA provides political and strategic assistance to gubernatorial campaigns. In addition, the DGA plays an integral role in developing positions on key state and federal issues that affect the states through the governors’ policy forum series.

From grass-roots organizing to candidate recruitment to providing campaign funds for tight races, the DSCC is working hard all year, every year to increase the number of Democratic Senators. http://www.dscc.org/

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee serves as the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with recruiting, assisting, funding, and electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. We provide services ranging from designing and helping execute field operations, to polling, creating radio and television commercials, fundraising, communications, and management consulting.

36. And a Kossack says: Ooops!
Ooops!

He was truckin' along just beautifully and then he stepped in it big time! Now I understand why many have been commenting that he isn't ready for the majors.

Why did he find it necessary to accuse the Brown campaign of speading lies about his military career on national TV? And to go on and on about it? It was not a way to endear himself with anyone but the hardcore Hackett base. Not a way to mend fences and to take the high road.

I'm not saying he isn't right about the substance (I don't know what the truth is), but it wasn't a smart political move.
