Bill Schneider says "It's all unraveling"....
Was just on Lou Dobbs and was commenting on the Ports issue...saying if Security is Bush's big issue of confidence in American people, then this is a disaster for them...

Edited on Mon Feb-20-06 07:14 PM by DoYouEverWonder
but it's the idea that is just such an outrageous example of how BushCo is selling this country to the highest bidder, even if they support terrrorism.

7. I don't know how in the world he expects to get away with this
His base has followed him because he says he will keep them safe. He has also done his best, through MSM and some of his lackeys, to demonize Islam and give Christians especially the strange and quaint notion that Muslims want to convert them (Qur'an teaches us to respect Christians and Jews as People of the Book, worshipping the same God; Qur'an also says to allow Christians and Jews to worship in their own way-see Surah 9:29 ). Now he says he's leasing our ports to UAE-what kind of reaction does he expect? I'm surprised some people haven't headed for the ports, ready to lock and load if anyone of an Arab persuasion gets near them.

Looks like he is almost there now.
That and the super rich are all he really seems to care about.

14. I fear that is correct-however
one thing his base will never get rid of is their guns. If he turns against them, I shudder to think what will happen. There are already a whole bunch of survivalists up here in the Ozarks, and I've taken a peak at their magazines from the '80s, which you can find in the library....

19. Let's hope it's just his usual vampire-ism...
...that instead of declaring himself president for life in 2008, instead he'll be content to leave the U.S. a Harkenese-like empty shell. We can then rise to pick up the pieces and put things back in place again.

20. Ayeshahaqqiqa,
Thank you for pointing out the Mohammed taught that Jews, Christians and Muslims are all people of the book and that there was to be mutual respect and honour because he recognised that we all worshipped the same God. I am a Christian but I have always understood that neither the Muslim nor the Jew is my enemy and as a matter of fact, my mother raised us to believe this. I wish more people would stop and
think why this wedge is being placed between us as a people. God bless you Ayeshahaqqiqa...O8) :applause:

29. God bless you as well!
I honor all paths that lead to God, and have shared and worshipped with Christians and Jews, and it is a very beautiful thing. I hope others begin wondering about that wedge and why it is being used.

9. But when all is said and done, we STILL have three years of this monster
term left for us to live through. Then there is no guarantee that we will not get just more of the same - Republicans who love their party more than they love their country.

Folks, I am terrified!!

12. Can't stop progress
There were entire populations that didn't want things to happen to them. Look how it worked out for Africans and the indigenous of this land.

Who else are the American people going to vote for? We have two parties(mostly in name only). We always end up with wealthy white men as the final two. What system will they be changing? The ports were already owned by a British company. The British just helped invade and occupy a country. I guess the reason we don't seem to mind that they protected the ports is because they're our brothers in empire? I mean, we did learn from them. They passed the torch to us. They were just caught on tape, beating the hell out of prisoners. But it's the Arabs that are the problem with the ports.

I've stopped wondering why things don't really change.

17. Bush' main goal has always been - to use American resources
Edited on Mon Feb-20-06 07:20 PM by Solly Mack
to make money for himself, his family, and his cronies. That's it. That's all Bush wanted the Presidency for - well, that and putting measures into place to control people and to distract the attention of the people while he was stealing - and to ensure an infrastructure that would continue the theft even after he's out of office. But bottomline - it's all been about stealing from America. Using America as a commodity - his own personal commodity.

National security is just a handy catch phrase to mask his crimes. Playing on the fears and prejudices of the American people is just another handy tool he utilizes.

I pray you're right and that all he wants to do is steal from us and then go.

21. I'm not so sure that he wants to steal from us and then go. He's
going to go, but he is doing everything he can to insure that Republicans stay in power and continue his work. We'll be feeling the effects of this administration for years to come, even if we elect a Democratic President. There is so much undoing that will have to be accomplished before the harm that this administration has done can be mended.

Edited on Mon Feb-20-06 07:51 PM by Solly Mack
I don't hold out much hope for recovery. He won't just go - cause the infrastructure he'll leave behind is in place. You and I will be paying for this until the day we die.

22. You're right, except it's not CHIMP who wants these things
He's just the puppet of the people who do. And he knowingly allows himself to be used to that end, so he is responsible. But he is far too stupid, incurious, and inept to plan anything. let alone something of this scale.

30. Bushco want to privitize everything. Literally everything.
The port thing is just another step in that direction. Rather than have the federal government or local government do port security or container inspections, they'd rather see one of their cronies make money on the deal.

Sweeping privitization is probably the main goal of the Bushies, IMO.
