Poll question: Do you think that the Bush Administration would welcome another 9/11?
Do you think that they would welcome it as a way to push Bush's approval ratings up with the hopes that the country would rally around him the way it did in the months after 9/11?

or

Would it backfire on him? Afterall, he and Cheney are bragging that their leadership have led to no further 9/11 type of attacks on US soil, if it happens again--Bush's leadership would be held responsible.

1. If they thought they could get away with it
and if they thought it would cement their stranglehold on the US, I believe they would do it in a heartbeat.

8. I have the sinking feeling that they're working on it . . .
. . . as we speak. Makes it easier for them to justify bombing brown-skinned people into oblivion.

They know no bounds to their evil. Something that not only the sheep, but we as well, simply cannot get our grey-matter around. And THAT, is arguably their most powerful weapon.

4. Sure
They can blame the local mayor like they did in New Orleans, and the average dumbass American will agree that it was the mayor's fault. Then they would give Halliburton a no-bid contract to clean up the mess.

God, I hope it's not Miami.

5. Another terra attack would cause his ratings to soar
People would be soaked in fear and panic even though that would demonstrate that he is a failure.

Oh well...:eyes:

9. And nationalism. You forgot the giddy displays of
nationalism that everyone would invoke. No one would dare mention the fact that the latest attack is a sign of his failure because they'd be afraid of being arrested and stoned to death for not supporting the president during a terrorist attack.

32. God - me too - only I remember it like it was YESTERDAY and how ALONE
and ALIENATED I felt for HATING that "man" from the moment it was happening.

It has been a horrible 6 years!

Just imagine what it WAS like under Clinton and the DEMOCRATS:

Peace.

Hope.

Prosperity as far as the Eyes could see.

My how low we have come.

7. Now that we're all of the "post-Katrina mindset" ...
... another attack would tend to rally the sheeple AGAINST the Administraion, NOT behind it.

You'll have noticed that those all-too-frequent (and bogus) terra alerts have been glaringly ABSENT lately, and even the "Latest CD/DVD from Osama" releases aren't getting the crowds into HMV like they used to ...

10. I agree with you, Nance
I really think it would backfire bigtime on them. They keep saying they can keep us safe, and I know a lot of people buy that BS, but if we were attacked again, I doubt they'd have the kind of "rally 'round the flag/admin/prez" reaction they had after 9/11.

17. It's Their Worst Case Scenario
If it happens, they have nothing. They sold fear. They promised that they were our best bet to be protected. If we get attacked, they're failures. It's the last thing they want.

22. You had me at welcome
Like duh. It would be called total excuse for total recall of all liberties for the next twenty years at least. Bush held responsible-are you MAD?-he's not held responsible for nuthing. They haven't even answered any of the real questions about the 9/11. That's all lies and smoke and mirrors.

For the 3 people that say no president not even Bush!-you have not been paying attention. Denial is not going to save your life. My husband keeps saying what he can hear them saying, "We never could have imagined an attack on our ports would happen." It was such a surprise. Really. How much shit can one country swallow is my question.

This Administration has managed to paint itself into a corner on so many issues. When the Freepers are Freaking' (and they ARE over the port sale), you're in it up to your eyeballs.

2006 is going to be a VERY intersting year ...

The fear factor generated in the interest of politics, however, is a different matter.

That he would welcome it, I have no doubt based on all the "accidental" comments he has made concerning how "fortunate" he has been.

He is purely evil scum for that alone.
