Arlen Specter and Jack Abramoff?

I'm listening to Stephanie Miller's show from the 17th and she's talking about Specter and Jack Abramoff. According to the report she is reading he denied any special connection to the lobbyist who's wife works in his office. USA Today reported Specter had helped secured nearly $50 million in federal funds to the hired lobbyists husband of one of his aides. Specter said it would be a "conflict of interest and inappropriate." He did say he would speak further to the aide to learn whether she was aware some applications were projects represented by her husband. Mrs. Siegel's husband never lobbied Senator Specter's office nor the firm office of his wife nor him his office. Stephanie says how he didn't have to because his wife worked for him!

edited to add - Abramoff's wife works there are the aide's husband was a lobbyist with Abramnoff? I am so confused now ...
