Reframe "We still have the Coast Guard and Customs"..
...On 9/11 we still had an Air Force and Customs and look what happened EVEN WITHOUT Arabs running the airports...

1. A Coast Guard DUer posted yesterday
and said that the company running the ports handles things that greatly effect security, like flagging some shipments as "ok".

2. And how much
staff do they have to deal with this issue--weren't we up a creek without a paddle re port security before this event came up? A lot of the "security" is on paper, approved before the ships are even here. I believe that one of the weakest points is the ability of foreign crew members to come and go from the port facilities with little supervision. We don't even do this with our northern border.
