Yep, that's my theory and I'm stickin' to it. George will take a ton of abuse between now and the next presidential election. But just watch, a GOP "savior" will come a ridin' over the hill on a milky white horse with a big ol' stetson of the same color. Another repug will disagree with George and challenge him on the most goofy issues that the boy king can bring up. The Dems arent' even in the picture. Come election time, another figure head will take his place at the helm for the good ol' Neo Cons to control and manipulate. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid I'm right.

Make George look bad now but offer a suitable GOP replacement. Spurious George won't miss any meals after he "steps down" and we know he doesn't care what the world thinks!

2. His name did come to mind. It would explain some of his erratic
voting behavior over the last few years, imo.

11. Truly sad.
Isn't that picture right after Bush won the South Carolina primary by spreading rumors that McCain was gay? How much grovelling, I wonder, did Chimpy demand in order for McCain to get back in his good graces?

13. I think you're right.
And knowing the BFEE, McCain probably saved his whole family with that hug.

15. Agreed.... Mr Cain
will be the guy to preach about balance for the repubs. He will preach about balance, the end of partisanship, the end of corruption, and have a few real plans to protect America....

I have a few reasons (very few, 10 times as many to disagree) to agree with him, but I do see him as the next prez if he throws his card in.

10. Eh, I'm not buying your theory at all...
The number 1 Repug takes a dive, in order to help Joe Blow win a regional election? You think Dear Leader is going to "take one for the team"? When has he ever done anything as selfless as that? Never.

Second, this port thing is freaking people out. It's really disillusioning to some people in the GOP base... forget about the specific details, just on an emotional level this is really touching a nerve. This is going to cause lethargic turnouts in November. If Dems stay motivated and get out the vote, this could be really big...

14. I hope you're right.
I agree that it's touching a nerve. I just wonder whether the Bushbots are even capable of not following orders (by staying home). I'm betting the media will be bashing Dems. 24/7 come October, and the Repuke base will be fired up to vote.

Nut I hope you're right.

9. Rudy
He keeps being called a "moderate' but the only things he's really moderate on are the wedge social issues like gay rights and abortion.

Otherwise, he's just a Neo-Con without a southern accent.

12. That's exactly right
that's why we have to make it clear to the stupids that it's the policies that are wrong, not just Bush. He's just the front man. If we can't get this through to people, we'll be stuck with another neocon who'll say 'the problems that came up were Bush, but the policies will work! Honest!'
