Bush**: Dubai Ports World no different than a "Great British company"
 What a :dunce: !

http://www.slate.com/id/2136793/

"And I want those who are questioning it to step up and explain why all of a sudden a Middle Eastern company is held to a different standard than a Great British company."—Defending a plan to allow a company from the United Arab Emirates to manage ports in the United States, aboard Air Force One, Feb. 21, 2006

Then again, it could have been a Grecian company that was selling to Dubai, I suppose :sarcasm:

4. state-owned enterprise
No, except for the fact it's government-owned (owned by a FOREIGN government, at that), and everybody knows that Georgie only believes in private enterprise,; you know, good-ole healthy competition. Just like we see among all the government-owned Chinese banks and trading companies that Georgie allows to screw us by insisting upon an uneven trade policy. Come to think of it, it seems that (according to Georgie) it is only AMERICAN corporations that do not deserve government protections. Aside from US oil and defense companies, of course.

5. I don't really want the ports in British hands, either
I prefer to see them run by Americans. And I highly doubt that Americans are running any foreign ports in other countries (at least at the wish of its citizens).

6. UKE AND ROTTERDAM

i heard today from a merchant marine that the reason "bush" likes the "uke" is because "rotterdam
port" is the most efficent port in europe. it also is believed to be the greatest link in the drug trade.
does that mean the six u.s. ports will become flooded with illegal imports? even though they will be more efficent?
hell no-keep the ports american all the way!
