Corzine understands that this
is about states' rights. He is taking them to court since the state owns assets Bushco is handing over to foreigners. Further, this violates New Jersey sovereignty. Good on you Senator.

2. He understands a good bandwagon...
the cities of Newark and Elizabeth own the ports, and the overall management is by the bistate Port Authority of NY&NJ with vast numbers of federal and state agencies watching over things. He really has little to say about it all, except that with the Governor of NY he appoints the Port Authority bigshots. And the actual port manager says he has no problem with the deal. The only one in the fray who actually knows how a port is run.

Of the seven terminals, I believe all but one are presently managed by foreign interests, including Chinese.

Other, non PA, terminals, such as the old Pittston oil terminal in Jersey City, are run by foreigners like Ultramar (if they still run it). I got involved there years ago when Ultramar was stuck cleaning up the mess Pittston made of the place. Other oil terminals are run by foreign firms you may have heard of, like BP, Shell and Citgo, with the Russians and Chinese in there playing. And then there's Bayonne, which won't be affected at all by this.

And every single bluewater ship coming in and out carries a foreign flag, often with the actual ownership unidentified and only an agent on the paperwork.
