Rita Cosby said that it's wrong that the Republicans in South Carolina are asking for church rolls to target the evangelical vote but it's just as wrong that Democrats are targeting the "hoodlum vote." Yes, the hoodlum vote. When a plainly confused Chris Matthews asked what she meant, she explained that Democrats were going through voter rolls to find felons to vote for them. .

13. The U.S. constitution expressly leaves it up to each state

to grant or not to grant voting rights to those convicted of crimes. Thus, the states vary w/ such sanctions.

That being said, Florida, I believe, restricts felons from voting rights (I don't know for how long). During the Bush v. Gore prez election, it was alleged that Florida removed many people from the voting register who were neither felons or felons who had voting rights returned to them. It's a sore spot w/ Democrats because, typically, if felons vote, they vote Democratic due to their experience with "law and order" Republican types as well as their economic status more than likely places them in the Democrat column. Then there's the racial input re more blacks are incarcerated than whites particularly in light of the overall population demographics which again if they voted would place them into the Democrat column.

Democrats are seeking "hoodlum votes?" No, that's just an ignorant sound bite for 24/7 talking-head shows.

Democrats are seeking voters wherever Democrats can find voters. This is new? I don't think so.
