1. Pension let down?
They are also outsourcing some of their frequent flyer service call centers.

Closing the Milage Plus center in Tucson

Tax payer bail outs over and over... so now, will taxpayers have to bail out the pension fund while retirees get dimes on the dollars they were promised?

5. Robyn Blumner called it right. "Re-Organized Crime".
She has a column every Sunday in the St. Pete Times.

I understand what's happening. I lost my job and about a quarter of my pension, and health insurance when LTV Steel went under in 2001.

Companies shed their contracts, pensions, and health care benefits, while giving huge bonuses and golden parachutes to executives. Their multi-million dollar pensions are invested in trust funds, and they don't lose them.

2. Can you lay this on me regarding your dad, in your own words?
I would like to know because I'm close to someone who works for an airline.

8. My dad could loose 82% of his pension
I am about to go off to college, and I have a younger sister who still has to go to college. My mom doesn't work, there was no need after my dad's 33+ years in the airline. He retired at 60 as is required. We built a house here in Texas in 2001, and were going to have it payed off in about 8 years... that has now been pushed to 30 years... if we can even afford to keep it. Basically we're being raped by the big money assholes, as well as those republicans in the House and Senate. Two bills that would have covered Untied Airlines Retirees were stomped by the republicans.

3. Unfortunately,
United Airlines is the major carrier out of my town. (12 per day) (United Express). One America West Flight per day and one Northwest flight per day......United is my airline whether I like it or not.....

4. Absolutely the pits.
My heart goes out to you and your dad. Corporations, especially under this MIS administration, seem to be able to steal, cheat and lie with impunity.

6. What is unbelievable
on top of the horsehit that the bK judge let the executives keep millions in a stake of the airlines they are allowing them to be penalized for not working until they were 65, it's against the federal law for airline pilots to work past 60. This is bullshit, they put part of their earnings into the pension fund. Too bad they were not allowed to take a one lump sum instead of an annunity.

7. Damn, and I just flew 3 overseas on United
I was trying to use an American company, but...

Now United is spamming the hell outa my inbox.
These corporations have been just evil to their employees.

We need good government again, but will need to see the whole truth on real TV news first. Otherwise folks just hear the propaganda and say, "Nobody owes those people a job".
Hello;;; the PENSION was earned!
