Stop Political Diversions
Edited on Sat Feb-25-06 11:21 AM by ck4829
This thing involving the banning of Gay Adoption and other Political Diversions has got to stop.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/APDC_/

This is my new group, the Anti Political Diversion Council, we are going to create a group which will go after those who wish to create political diversions.

Here is my list of Diversions so far.

Abortion
-Abortion Bans

Gay Rights
-Gay Adoption Bans
-Gay Marriage Bans

Immigration
-Restrictions on Immigration (Legal or Illegal)

I need some help, I need to have some more diversions. Can you all help me out?

1. I'm not sure immigration is a diversion...
Illegal immigration is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. Somehow.

And that's what I want to focus on.

3. How about addressing their diversionary tactics
with regards to the issue?

Thom Hartmann states that all they'd have to do is pass a law making corporate CEOs responsible for the hiring of illegals, with a punishment of up to a year in jail, and we'd have a line on THIS side of the border waiting to cross.

They're here, and it's an issue, because no one bothers to address the core problem...they're here because they can get jobs whether they're illegal or not.

5. Yep...
they hoot and howl and talk about building a wall (ridiculous) and simply refuse to address the obvious--we can't blame THEM for wanting a better life, but we can blame those who allowed it to become a serious problem because it's financially beneficial to them.

6. Make the employers who hire them...
withhold taxes and pay social security on their salaries instead of paying them off in cash. If they don't, call in the IRS. That will make exploitation of illegals less profitable immediately.

7. My husband's republican relatives,
most of whom are Midwest farmers, consider abortion and gay rights the most important issues of the day, and are vehemently opposed to both. They are totally ignorant regarding other issues. One of the few Democrats on my husband's side, also a Midwest farmer who's opposed to abortion and gay rights (but not as opposed to them as he is to the war and all the other crap Bushco is throwing at us), recently said, "If we Democrats would stop focusing so much on those two issues, we'd have a better chance of winning elections." I think he may have also called them diversions. Anyway, I agree with him.
