"If the rules are fair, I believe our companies and our farmers and our entrepreneurs can compete with anybody, any time, anywhere," Mr. Bush said.

Well Mr. Bush, that means American wages have to plummet. So far so good. :eyes: This also means the COST OF LIVING has to plummet even more to compensate and to keep America's GDP and all the other economic witch magic indicators on the level too. Right now, your corporate friends get to reap great profits, but the Indians and Chinese think it's all a great windfall because their cost of living is exponentially smaller than it is here in America. An implosion is coming, easily within 24 months - more likely 18 if jobs (including everything from once top-paying design and engineering jobs right down to automating and centralizing fast food drive-thru teller jobs as some fast food chains' R&D have been attempting for some time now...).

He said India's growing economy means more opportunities, as Indians fill their needs for Boeing jetliners and kitchen appliances and indulge their tastes for American pizza.

:wtf: You mean, a billion Indians ALL need jets?! That's a lot of gas. I wonder when methane will be considered... lots of cows over there would not only save the planet by farting, they'd keep the Indians sky high! (no wonder they're sacred! Just don't tell me my $50 pair of leather gloves, made in India, came from cow hide...) Now Kitchen appliances are understandable, but the Chinese make those for half a pittance so no problem there...

But they also the desire to become OBESE by indulging in American lard-soaked fecal matter fast food? WTF?!?!?! Okey doke then, LET THEM pork up, why should we care? The corporations want to complain Americans are stupid, lazy, and fat? Good. Give the Indians (or Chinese or anyone else) bernatellos and Xboxes and they'll become the same way. Dull, fat, ugly... and contented... :dunce: :dunce: :dunce: Well, contented until they wake up and realize they've been raped up their arse bloody raw beyond the ability to be healed, just like how America has. Eventually the corporate elite will run out of countries to use, however - that should be fun to watch in 30 years' time.

As usual, the core problems are ignored while symptoms get massaged. And we can't address the core problems because the video game industry, amongst others, would go bankrupt. :nopity:

Sheesh. Medical statistics over the last 25 years have shown increases in medical issues stemming from sedentry and repetitive work. You'd think SOMEBODY would notice. OTOH, people griped about population and the environment 30 years ago and nobody ultimately cared in the end either!

2. It's laughable when they imply that we have to compete
with China, Mexico or any poverty stricken country.
Maybe if I can work for just $.25 more than Mexican laborers I'll get all the work I can handle.
No I wont, because American corporations would still outsource my job to save that much.

But him and Cheney don't even think government contractors should have to compete for our tax dollars.

Fair trade...not free trade.
