From what I understand, CNN's political commentator Terry Jeffert said this:

WOLF BLITZER: Terry, is Iraq falling apart right now?

TERRY JEFFERY: Well, I certainly hope not, Wolf. But I think actually these attacks on Shia shrines can be attributed to the potential success of the Bush strategy.

My idea is, what if, whenever something clearly tragic like this happens, we here see if we can out Spin the RW/MSM Spinners? Sort of a web version way to shame the RW/MSM Spinners.:think:

Each one of these threads would need to be clearly labeled SPIN: or ExtreemSpin or XSPIN:, but it could be fun to see how much imagination folks here have compared to Fox "news" or CNN.

And we could grade each one to (on a 10 point scale) like: 8.5, 9.0, 4.5...

Or would these just all end up moved to the DU Lounge?:shrug:

Maybe I've watch to much of the Olympics, but what do ya think?

2. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this idea!

I don't think the scoring system is necessary, though. Just have a 'SPIN' thread for the top story (or stories) of the day. People can add to it throughout the day.

People here on DU are too clever when it comes to this sort of thing! There will lots of great laughs - and that's its own reward!
