2. Zogby wasn't good about "inviting" callers last Friday on his show though
Edited on Mon Feb-27-06 07:39 PM by calipendence
He instead did it live from UAE (which sponsors his show, "Viewpoint With James Zogby" on Link TV). And for the first time in many weeks he didn't take any calls then and had only one guest that gave the UAE party line... Hmmmm..... Usually I like Zogby for being rather impartial and asking good questions, but I think his "sponsorship" allegiance was showing then. It will be interesting to see what kind of calls he gets this week, or if he tries to put them off another week then too.

3. That may be true... I liked this in a general sense... for anyone
as in "How come we don't hear YOUR viewpoint?".

Well, you don't invite us on the show.

4. He was in big campaign mode pushing UAE.
I was rather underwhelmed.

6. He probably was...
He was defending them last Friday on his show. He IS sponsored by their money there. I think he and other members of the U.A.E. are trying to wash away the opposition to this deal as being motivated by racism (which is probably true for some of the Rethuglican opposition to the deal) and not by concerns for security, our sovereignty over our ports and our jobs, etc. I think someone should call him and note that many Americans aren't just concerned about U.A.E. controlling their ports, but many other entities controlling them too (especially others like China controlling our ports here in California in San Pedro, etc.). Ultimately our country has the right to claim ownership over our ports and the authority managing them, and if that's a state or a private group that manages it, and if it is private that it isn't controlled by any other country institutions. Zogby isn't hitting any of those points when he talks about this issue. He needs to be called on those points!
