1. Good. Most people in Missouri aren't crazy,
and no matter what they tell their husbands, ministers or pollsters, the women of Missouri will see that those neanderthals are un-elected.

I swear, I think this anti-women legislation being proposed all over the country is going to be the vehicle that gets rid of a LOT of really bad officeholders.

11. Nope, I'm from Texas,
but I've known lots of people from MO.

In fact, a friend drove down from St. Louis just this weekend. :)

4. I hope you're right . . .
. . . but starting in the Reagan years, funding for education was slashed in Missouri. And the results have been catastrophic. So many people are poor, poorly educated, and ripe for manipulation from the "Christian" wingnuts.

For someone who has kept his eyes open, it's pretty sad to see a state with so much potential, become just another backward haven for oppressive jerks.

Still fighting the bastards to get rid of the Diebold machines here in KC.

:grr:

5. well we have to make sure we're out there and getting the
real message out. Not waiting for the media to be fair. Or waiting for the politicians. It's so much more than choice! It's about people living outside of poverty!

12. Same thing has happened here in Texas.
But women don't like nosy busybodies poking into their business, and this new focus against birth control is nutz.

Essentially, it's a bunch of men telling women how many children they'll have and when.

7. The people in MO may not be crazy...
but it sounds like their lawmakers could be. I hope that like you say, this will cause a lot of bad office-holders to be swept out of office, but for some reason they seem to get re-elected (or selected) anyway. If rich, white Repug men could get pregnant, there would be abortion clinics on every corner, and I bet the contraceptive research would be well funded!! It's a shame that these people try to squelch sex education and block access to family planning organizations. Then they scream bloody murder about "fetus' rights", and then once the child is born, deny them health care, too. If these are what Christians are all about, Hail Satan!!

9. I wish the Rethugs would come all-out against birth control and
try to make it illegal. People need to see what these people are really about and then their asses would be GONE.

13. Though it will be scary in the mean time, this is exactly
what must happen in order for Americans to wake up!

I've known and known of several pro-life Republicans who have had abortions or have encouraged family members to have them. When it happens to them, they change the rules. When laws are passed that would allow them and their loved ones to be prosecuted for their actions, they will have second thoughts about what the beleive and who they will vote into office.
