Dubai port deal - some thoughts

This whole deal with Dubai has really got me thinking...

This is really just the natural end result of privatization of government functions. Once we determine that its OK for certain parts of our government to be run by private companies, its really only a few short steps until foreign governments start running things.

We've already determined that our military support can be run by private companies. Whats the difference between letting our military support get contracted out to Halliburton, or contracted out to a company owned by China? Not much. Are we comfortable with that?

This is a meme Dems should really push. Unless you are comfortable with a function being run by a foreign owned company, you had better not privatize it. Once you do, its open for bids and anyone can run it.

1. I belive their plan is to sell everything to anybody and take the money

and run. If you look at countries where things have been sold off - mostly S. America - you will notice that things don't go well. * helped countries sell their water and electricity to private companies - Enron. The rates went sky high, no one could afford anything, the populations rioted and the countries economys crashed. By the time anything gets run by a foreign government, there won't be anything left of the USA.

2. Real Bush port plan

1. Turn port operation over to the Dubai government.
2. Nuclear device is brought in to US with no oversight or questions asked.
3. Nuclear device is detonated at the port of entry or transported to a major American( Blue State) city.
4. Marshall law is declared by Bush.
5. Bush calls off November 2006 elections.
6. Bush stays in power indefinitely.

This plan seems OBVIOUS to me.
