The Question Was Asked Here At DU....
on a post just a little bit ago, "Why is it that news organizations dance around the subject of PNAC?"

I gave my reply, but was so buried, I'm not sure how many people will read it, so I thought it worthy of a post.

For those who don't know, and by now that isn't very many, there are many corporate executives that are board members of many military industrial complex corporations, who also sit on the boards of the major news organizations. This is, I feel by design, so that news content can be controlled by those same executives whose agenda is to make the PNAC successful and push through global corporate and military domination.

Here is a list of names:

William Kennard:New York Times, Carlyle Group
Douglas Warner III, GE (NBC), Bechtel
John Bryson: Disney (ABC), Boeing
Alwyn Lewis: Disney (ABC), Halliburton
Douglas McCorkindale: Gannett, Lockheed Martin

Here is also a list of names of PNAC Partners who hold, or have held positions in G.W. Bush administration:

Elliot Abrams, National Security Council
Dick Cheney, V.P.
Paula Dobriasnski, State Dept. undersecretary of global affairs
Aaron Friedberg, Dick Cheney's Deputy National Security Advisor
Francis Fukuyama: President's Council On Bioethics
Zalmay Khalilzad, U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan
Lewis Libby, Dick Cheney's former Chief of Staff
Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense
Henry S. Rowan: Defense Policy Board, Commission On Intelligence Capabilities Of U.S., regarding WMD's
Paul Wolfowitz, Deputy Secretary of Defense, President of World Bank

These are the names of PNAC members, according to the study done by professors Peter Phillips, Bridget Thornton and Celeste Vogler at Sonoma State University, done in 2005.

So, is it any wonder?

Many people here at DU know this information. I'm sure that many do not. I hope this helps answer a few questions.

I had no idea he was in on that too.

3. Maybe the words New Pearl Harbor
are too much for some. I personally think denial is the only way this country can get through another day.

But yeah, they are rich and profit from war. I guess that makes it easier to lie and deny. And the PNAC is the direct link to making over the world order. Can't let that cat out of the bag. It would look like they were guilty of something.

8. We need to reframe their own jargon
"New Pearl Harbor" = "New Reichstag Fire"

4. Until we get a candidate who goes rogue on live TV
The problem of PNAC being unknown by the general population will remain. What would have happened if Kerry had started attacking Cheney and Co on the PNAC issue? I mean, the "pearl harbor" type event and such.

9. A pack of Democrats, led by Clinton and Breaux, would've denounced Kerry
publically.

6. Thank you for the information.
I'm trying to learn more about PNAC.

Here's a link to their website,
specifically their Statement of Principles.

http://www.newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm

" American global leadership?"
Doesn't this sound like the New World Order?
This concerns me a lot.

( love that blogname) ;-)

Yes, PNAC does look like they are
trying to establish a New World Order.

We've been seeing it for years, the Diebold voting machines,
cover ups in intelligence, etc.

I put nothing past these people.
World domination- we've heard that one before.

7. Of course
And even if they didn't work for PNAC they'd still go in their favor because of the big corporations. Only a few people own the news and they aren't going to lose their tax cuts.

12. Francis Fukuyama has defected - he was on MSNBC
last night - on Keith Olbermann, explaining how he now believes the PNAC plan is a failure. They said the word PNAC plenty, was wonderful.

but it is a start. You should add a bunch of the American Enterprise Institute's people to your list; a lot of them operate as journalists, editors, foreign policy experts.

20. Oh, the players on this team are many.
As you said, journalists, members of think tanks, public relations firms to spread their propaganda on the news. (yes, they actually hire PR firms to spin certain stories, which is against the law.) and on and on. They have done a good job of covering all the bases. They have had over twenty years in which to do it.

People need to know that our government consists mostly of members of the PNAC and that their operatives are everywhere influencing what ordinary Americans know about them and what they stand for.

18. And also influencing what ordinary Americans see and hear
about events in our country and around the world. The corporate media is not going to give a true and complete picture of the failings of this administration until it suits the purposes of those in power. That's why the internet and forums such as DU have become so important for keeping oneself informed on the issues. Without it, we'd be as blind as the wingers.
