I heard Katrina briefing on The Rachel Maddow show this morning!
Edited on Thu Mar-02-06 08:29 AM by Tim4319
This President blatantly lied to this country and it is all caught on tape.

<<snip>>
Former FEMA director Michael Brown says the video footage of the final briefing before Katrina struck is proof that President Bush and other officials were informed that the storm would wreak devastation of disastrous proportions. First from the National Hurricane director Max Mayfield, who said: "I don't think any model with any confidence right now whether the levees will be topped or not but that is obviously a very, very grave concern."

This snip concerns levees in particular!

<<snip>>
Transcripts of the briefings, first reported by The Associated Press and also obtained by Knight Ridder, show that Bush was told in stark detail about Katrina's potential deadly impact and that he heard a top hurricane expert express ''grave concerns'' about the ability of the levees to withstand what turned out to be a catastrophic hurricane. They also show that Bush asked no questions.

Bush, in post-hurricane comments, insisted that his administration had no warning the levees were in danger.

1. I loved Rachel's one-line comment, to wit:
"I want a new government."

2. Yes, I heard that comment too.
That comment really made think about the entire Katrina situation, and how he lied to our faces. I don't care what anyone says, this is by far, worse than Bill Clinton pointing is thumb at us about Monica. No one lost a life because of Monica, more than 1300 lost their lives because of Katrina. "I want a new government"!

3. How are they going to spin this?
How can they spin this? You can hear the president in his own voice discussing the levees, the strength of the storm. He even mention to Michael Brown that he will make sure all the aid will be provided to the region during and immediately following the storm. How can they spin this? I am sure "Limp-balls", and "Shammity" will find a way!
