Horowitz: "There ar 50,000 terrorist supporting professors."
This guy is getting more unhinged every day.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200603030013

Summary: On MSNBC's Scarborough Country, right-wing activist David Horowitz claimed that "here are 50,000 professors" who are "anti-American" and "identify with the terrorists." There are just over 400,000 tenured and tenure-track full-time university professors in the United States. If Horowitz's numbers are accurate, that means approximately one out of every eight tenured or tenure-track college and university professors is a terrorist sympathizer.

On the March 2 edition of MSNBC's Scarborough Country, right-wing activist David Horowitz claimed that "here are 50,000 professors" who are "anti-American" and "identify with the terrorists." Horowitz, the president of Students for Academic Freedom and a proponent of an "Academic Bill of Rights" for American universities, is the author of The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America (Regnery, January 2006).

According to statistics from the Department of Education,

1. LOL
Whoa, 50000 terrorist sympathizer professors. Will they all be in a line and then have someone like Hannity or Rush determine how serious a threat they are and send them to camps?

5. Well at least whore-o-wits isn't pretending
that this is a free speech issue anymore. The cloak is off, he just wants a purge of every educator who doesn't toe the line.

I wonder what the criteria for being classified as 'anti-American' or 'identify with terrorists' is according to this nutcase.

Whore-o-witz forgot to mention that there are plenty of rightwing professors, you just won't find many of them in the places he is looking for them, like the humanities. Try the B school fuckwitz.

A University professor has been labeled one of the 101 “most dangerous academics in America” by conservative commentator and author of three New York Times bestsellers David Horowitz, who released a book in February that profiles “dangerous” academics across the county.

Seven other Pacific-10 Conference professors are also listed in the alphabetically organized book, “The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America,” which includes a description of Horowitz’s rationale for including each academic.

Sociology Department head Bob O’Brien said he’s not concerned about the book or Foster’s views.

“I’ve been department head for maybe 10 or 12 years. For the time that John’s been here I don’t believe I’ve ever had one student come complain to me about his views in class,” he said

10. 'they're on the radio"
Some quite a few years ago a friend and I were in the car and I complained about what I thought was shit music on the radio and the shit but emiently popular band producing it.

Bored with my tirade I guess, he said "yeah, but they're on the radio"

IE, making a shitload of dough.

Somebody puts a mike in front of fuckers like Horowitz.

13. my major wasn't very political, more dry facts and science, but...
i can't think of a single incident where any kind of serious political discussion took place. not once in five years of college did i hear any slanted political talk. i don't understand where they keep digging up these politically charged professors. this whole campaign stinks of "the war on christmas". it's just another diversion, or figment, of the right wing PR machine.

Look how low the discourse has sunk. Whackos like Coulter and Horowitz are invited by the corporate media to be part of the discourse.

15. Looks like McCarthyism gave him the Stockholm Syndrome.
Stockholm Syndrome. Y'know, where you fall in love with your kidnapper?

Horowitz's parents were victims of McCarthyism. I believe his father was fired from his teaching position for the unspeakable crime of being a member of the Communist Party. Now the shame of growing up as the child of a McCarthyist victim has manifested itself in Horowitz's latest list of "anti-Americans".

Just substitute the word "terrorist" for "communist" and Horowitz's psychological malady becomes quite obvious.

19. He is actually part
of a well coordinated attack on dissent in the United States. He is also, of course, a prostitute, willing to sell himself for a buck. It is too easy to dismiss him as merely an annoying ass. In fact, he poses a threat to good teachers everywhere. I am tired of his crap about high school students being too delicate to hear a wide variety of views. They are old enough to join the military and fight, kill, and die in Iraq starting in June.

20. I'm a terrorist supporting ABD because, like William Hurt
in "The Big Chill," I "chose not to continue."

I'm joking but, seriously, I expect to be rounded up any day now and sent to Auschwitz West (at or near Denver, CO). once KBR finishes building the internment camps.
