Warner on Feingold censure "it tends to weaken our president."
Edited on Mon Mar-13-06 09:52 AM by rodeodance

.....Sen. John Warner (news, bio, voting record), R-Va., said on CNN's "Late Edition" that Feingold's announcement on a Sunday talk show was "political grandstanding. And it tends to weaken our president."

....The president's action were "in the strike zone" in terms of being an impeachable offense, Feingold said. The senator questioned whether impeaching Bush and removing him from office would be good for the country.....

changed so that people won't *perceive* Bush as breaking the law.

24. Probably not, unless Reid wants to shut it down again
That's about the only way it would get to the floor that I can see. Reid needs to kick some Con butt! Not that it's going to happen any time soon.

Although I do wish we could censor the damned fool's speeches, they're not the same thing!

14. he sure does-as does Frist--see below (Jr has a 'bold vision")

Frist, appearing on ABC's "This Week," said that he hoped al-Qaida and other enemies of the U.S. were not listening to the infighting.

"The signal that it sends, that there is in any way a lack of support for our commander in chief who is leading us with a bold vision in a way that is making our homeland safer, is wrong," Frist said.

12. When he & his staff start thinking about 'unitary executive' crap,
time to trim their wings a bit and remind them about what the rules are! Warner can bite me. The Senate needs to do their friggin job and become a fully participating part of the government again. Let them know you know Feingold has a legitimate grievance and they best be backing him up!

Thanks for the heads up as to schedule, rodeodance. Must See TV! (And thanks for being considerate about time zones! You are the best!)

And of course they had no intention of weakening the president in the 90's. God bless those loving, caring, moral, perfect republicans and their insane base.

15. No, Mr. Warner
Being absolutely, ruinously, murderously, wrong about everything "tends to weaken our president." The man's record of prevarication, deception, secrecy and total incompetence cries out for censure at the very least. If the GOP had an ounce of integrity, it would have begun impeachment proceedings against this fool years ago.

So, spare me that "political grandstanding" bullshit, Mr. Warner. Your president and your party are killing our country.

And Sen. Frist will do just about anything to avoid that sacrosanct "up or down vote" on a censure resolution.

35. Russ can introduce the resolution...
...but the Republicans can vote against or filibuster the motion to proceed. Essentially, the motion to proceed would be the vote to see who is on our side, as it will never get a real "up-or-down" vote.

21. More DLC complicity with and enabling of this administration...
It's all bullsh*t, smoke and mirrors... they are just Republicans with a "D" after their names.

Resist all DLC candidates, issues, and assinine talking points like this. At worst, they are just colluders who are DINOs -- at best, they are sorrily misled and totally without balls.

RESIST THE DLC.
