OMG - Bush is using that Autistic Boy -He has no shame
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 01:07 PM by dogday
Bush is standing with the Autistic Boy who played in that basketball game and sunk several 3 pointers. He is using him for photo op... Leave it to Bush to use the handicapped.....

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2006/03/14/national/w083456S10.DTL&feed=rss.news

President Bush is the latest in a string of high-profile fans to call on Jason McElwain, the autistic basketball manager who drew national cheers by scoring 20 points in four minutes for his high school team.

On his way to Canandaigua, N.Y., Tuesday to speak at Medicare events, Bush stopped at an airport near here and greeted McElwain — accompanied by his parents and coach — and called him "a special person."

"Our country was captivated by an amazing story on the basketball court," the president told reporters gathered on the tarmac, his arm draped around the 17-year-old senior, with Air Force One, the presidential jet, in the background. "It's the story of a young man who found his touch on the basketball court, which in turn touched the hearts of citizens all around the country."

The president joked that if his aging body would let him return to the basketball court, he'd want a lesson from McElwain.

Who's using who?
I'd say that the autistic young man is much more intelligent than Bush, and just might be figuring that a photo with a president, any president, could come in handy later in life.

Just because the guy is autistic doesn't mean he is stupid or helpless, quite the opposite in fact, autistic people are usually quite intelligent. They just don't process and filter input like the rest of us.

1. Maybe his parents are repukes.
If * wanted to use any of my kids for photo-ops, he would have to go through me first.

5. I suspect that the kid is more socialised than Bush
fifteen times smarter and a much nicer person.

He also doesn't throw like a girl.

to assure us that this young man's condition was not caused by mercury in vaccinations.

8. The western 'burbs of Rochester are more con than right wing Rochester
Greece, Chili, etc. are even more conservative than the 'average' in the Rochester, NY, area.

Unquestionably, however, Junior uses people as a means to his own ends and never as an end in themselves.
