Big Ed is REAMING the Democrats AGAIN today for their silence
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 04:56 PM by FLDem5
and not standing up for Feingold.

some quotes, "he is Gary Cooper in High Noon".

(Plot Outline: A marshall, personally compelled to face a returning deadly enemy, finds that his own town refuses to help him. (more) (view trailer)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044706/)

"the party is constipated and this is the enema that was needed."

He is also playing clips of big name Democrats (Leahy, Boxer, Kerry, etc.) all saying, on his show, that what Bush did was illegal and there was NO justification for it. Then he is asking, so why are they NOT coming out in support of this. What is the downside?

1. I heard it when I picked up my kids. The clips of the Dems was great. He
said too many of them are fearing the repugs instead of keeping with their base. He said it's like the Iraq (bush's) War, the American people are ahead of the curve on these issues.

3. Fear of being painted as unpatriotic and exposing the country to danger
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 05:03 PM by Selatius
That's probably why Democrats won't support Feingold as he comes under withering fire. Of course, some Democrats don't care. They support the president in whatever he does to destroy terrorism. (See Joe Lieberman)

What was it Hermann Goering said?

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

The masters of our nation learned from the best.

17. Sounds like the same reason they voted for IWR.
Wrong then, wrong now. Stand for something, Democrats.

4. I heard some of that.
He had a caller on there from Canadagua who was doing the same thing-talking about how the local dems scheduled a protest after Bush was gone.

6. Why is it always framed that they are afraid of the Bush White House
I think that is just bullsh*t in some cases. It may have to do more with the public perception of this issue and the timing. Also, maybe if we would be patient and see out the 2006 elections, we could reap bigger benefits rather than settling for slapping Bush on the wrist.

9. because they all agree that what he did is illegal
the right wants to introduce legislation to make it illegal to report Bush for doing illegal things.

It was pretty much now or never.

10. Would like to believe you are right; but I fear we're not
going to be reaping bigger benefits from Diebold machines in 2006. The fix is in.

The Republic is dying with a whimper, not a bang.

11. do you really think the party that stole several of the past elections has
any intention of playing fair and allowing the will of the people to be heard? That they will be willing to allow subpoena power that would occur with the transfer that could not only end their careers but land their sorry butts in jail?

They waited after 2000

after 2002

after 2004

THE TIME FOR ACTION IS NOW!

16. My FAX to Sen. Reid
To: Office of the Senate Minority Leader
The Honorable Henry Reid of Nevada
From:
Dues Paying, Democrat
Date: March 14, 2006

Subject: Feingold Resolution

Sir,

WAKE UP!

George W. Bush is probably the most disliked President we will see in our lifetime. Current polls have his popularity at an anemic 34%. That’s thirty-four per cent!

The only thing protecting this President from the disgrace of being hounded out of office is a handful of Republican Senators.

You, sir represent the MAJORITY OF AMERICANS, not to mention the vast majority of the Democratic Party. We’re behind you Sir stand up and fight back!

If not for the party, please fight for the Senate to reassert its authority to provide a check and balance on the executive branch. Reclaim your constitutional rights and make this executive stand accountable for his lawlessness. The honor of the Senate is at stake.

Please sir, there is no “grand strategy” that can pre-empt this imperative.

Sincerely,

signed
