"The Democrats have no plan" - yada, yada, yada
Edited on Wed Mar-29-06 07:58 PM by ih8thegop
I've heard so much talk about the Democrats acting as wimps and having no plan.

No plan? Well, then, explain this:

Today, Democratic leaders across the country will join House and Senate Democrats in unveiling a comprehensive plan for providing the American people with real security. The agenda stands in stark contrast to the dangerous incompetence of the Republican leadership, which has undermined the security of the American people. Given their failed record, it’s no wonder Republicans are losing credibility on a range of issues including security and defense. In fact, according to a recent DNC poll, the Republican rhetoric is not working, as Americans want policies that are both tough and smart and offer real solutions.

<snip>

"The American people are looking for change, not more of the same misleading rhetoric and failed leadership offered by Republicans. Today, Democrats are offering a new direction by providing a bold agenda for keeping America safe. We will make sure 2006 is a year of significant transition to Iraqi sovereignty; we will rebuild our military and National Guard; we will provide our troops and veterans the benefits they have earned; we will make sure our first responders have the equipment and training they need to keep our communities safe; and we will promote a real plan to make America energy independent by 2020.

"Democrats understand that homeland security begins with hometown security. We offer a bold vision for a safer America. We will not only hunt down the terrorists and provide our troops with the tools they need to stop future attacks, but we will do a better job of securing our ports and our nuclear power and chemical plants. Instead of their continued failure to take the steps necessary to protect the safety and security of our communities, President Bush and Republicans in Washington should join Democrats in fighting for an agenda that will provide Real Security for the American people."

2. It's not that we don't have direction...
...it's that we have TOO MUCH direction. There are several differing views of what our direction should be, and we can never put our differences aside, and decide which way to head.

Hell, just start a Nader or a Dean thread and watch the sparks fly if you don't believe me.

6. We have excellent plans. Several of them in fact.
Everything ranging from taxing the top 1% like they should be while simultaneously reducing taxes on the middle class, to single payer health care and true medicare reform.

The problem is, that we always start arguing amongst ourselves at the drop of a hat, every time we need to put our heads together and stand as one.

The repugs know that too, and step out of the way and laugh as we implode every single time.

5. The Security Plan is a start...it's a document that many
Dems worked on from Clark, Madeline Albright, Dems in congress...this is a plan for Security...

We have not seen any cohesive plan from the Repugs...they project their failures on us....The debacle document that they put out last year to Win the War on Terrorism was all fluff no actual plan.

What the Dems are sorely lacking is an advertising genius....Seriously we have to admit we have a publicity problem our message is not getting out...we need someone or a company that is so innovative and so current that we inundate the US with the Dem message.....

8. That's what Bill Clinton's true genius was.
Marketing his plans was definitely his strong point. Also, when the right wing smear machine leveled their sights on him, we saw 15 minute turn around responses, and did not let the slander go unchecked until it got repeated over and over as fact.

7. The Dem's plan
The Democrats need to focus on the health care issue instead of this terrorism stuff thats the number one issue above terrorism. the republicans passed that stupid drug prescription bill last year thats made things worst.and i don't hear any Democrat talking about it.
