United Wallpaper Craftsmen & Workers of North America merge with Pulp, Sulfite & Paper Mill Workers - 1958

American Federation of Hosiery Workers merge with Textile Workers Union of America - 1965



April 28, 1970 - Congress approved legislation to create OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The AFL-CIO commemorates April 28 as “Workers Memorial Day” to honor the hundreds of thousands of working people killed and injured on the job every year.
