About 7,700 US Airways Group Inc. baggage handlers have ratified a new labor agreement with the airline.

The International Association of Machinists finalized a new labor deal with Tempe, Ariz.-based US Airways (NYSE:LCC) Thursday.

The accord runs through 2011 and melds labor pacts for baggage handlers from US Airways and America West Airlines. The two carriers merged in 2005.

US Airways, which is the dominant carrier at Piedmont Triad International Airport, currently serves more than 230 destinations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.
